What does the Ninja Foodi grill do?
First and foremost, I must say, Ninja is NOT sponsoring this post (I wish they were). But, as usual, you are getting my honest opinion.
If you are not familiar with the 4-quart Ninja Foodi Grill or the Ninja Foodi Grill Smart XL, let’s do a quick rundown of what this multi-use indoor appliance does. It has multiple uses including:
- Grill
- Air Fryer
- Roaster
- Broiler
- Dehydrator
- Broiler (Smart XL version)
There are also accessories available that allow it to do much more. Accessories that are sold separately include:
I bought mine in November 2019, and I use it at least five times per week. So, if anyone knows about this thing, it’s me.
If you’re reading this Ninja Foodi Grill review, chances are, you are wondering, “Is The Ninja Foodi Grill Worth The Money?” Let me give you a rundown. And some yummy photos!
On to the Ninja Foodi Grill Review…
As a parent, I find this grill not only saves me time in the kitchen, but it produces delicious results. I have used it to cook meat. I’ve air fried french fries, fish sticks, and chicken nuggets in the air fryer. I’ve roasted chickens. I have even dehydrated fruit.
When I bought this appliance, I already had an air fryer. But, I couldn’t overlook the fact that it does so much more than my air fryer. The versatility of this appliance gives me many options for foods to cook.
What sizes does the Ninja Foodi grill come in?
I have the 4-quart version of this grill. It saves so much space! I don’t keep it on the counter, I am able to fit it in my kitchen cabinet. If you have a larger family, or if you entertain, you may prefer the newer Ninja Foodi Smart XL version.
There are two versions:
- The Ninja Foodi 5-in-1 indoor 4-quart (Model AG301)
- And the newer Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor (Model FG551)
The outer dimensions are:
Inner capacities are:
- 4-quart: 10″ x 10″ grill grate fits 4 steaks, 4-qt crisper basket fits 2 lbs of fries, 6-qt cooking pot fits a 3-lb roast
- XL Smart: XL 9″ x 12″ grill grate fits 6 steaks, 4-qt crisper basket fits 2 lbs of fries, 6-qt cooking pot fits a 3-lb roast
Each has the same 1760 watts, so you are sure to get awesome cooking power in both.
Does the Ninja Foodi Grill cook evenly?
Absolutely! The appliance is incredibly thorough when cooking food. The heat distributes evenly, so you don’t have to worry about raw parts. It even cooks food from frozen!
Does the Ninja Foodi Grill bake?
Yup! There is a Ninja Deluxe Baking Pan Kit that is available to be purchased separately. You can get it here!
Does the Ninja Foodi Grill Smoke?
This appliance has a grease guard as well as upper and rear vents. So, while there is smoke, it is barely noticeable. I have no issues regarding smoking.
Is the Ninja Foodi Grill healthy?
I can’t do a Ninja Foodi Grill review without letting you know that using this is healthier than frying foods in a pan. When I make burgers, and other fatty meats, I can see the grease that is left in the drip pan when it’s done cooking. It makes me happy to see that even though, the flavor is incredible, I am eating fewer calories than I normally would.
With this, I may sometimes add very little oil to certain foods, but for the most part, I add no oil. Goodbye guilt!
Is the Ninja Foodi Grill easy to clean?
This depends. When I use the air fryer basket, I have no problem cleaning the non-stick basket. But when it comes to the grill plate, that is harder to clean. It does come with a brush for getting into the grooves for better cleaning. But as with any grill, food easily sticks to it.
I told you this is an HONEST Ninja Foodi Grill review. So, here’s a tip: To save me some headache, I soak my grill plate while I’m eating. That way, the residue is much softer and easier to brush off. Just be careful to let the hot parts cool a bit before touching them.
How much does the Ninja Foodi Grill cost?
What’s the point of doing a Ninja Foodi Grill review as Deal Finding Diva, without telling you about how to save money on it?
I found the 4-quart Ninja Foodi at Kohl’s as low as $239.99. When I checked, they were giving about $45 Kohl’s Cash and about $10 in Yes2You Rewards. Coupons can be used to make it cheaper. And shipping or store pickup is free! It easily brings the price down to about $160. Walmart also has it for $169 (retail: $229.80).
I found the XL Smart at Kohl’s as low as $289.99 (retail: $349.80). Plus, they have been giving $50 Kohl’s Cash and $10 in Yes2You Rewards, for the purchase. Plus, coupons bring the price down even more. It’s definitely worth checking out.
I get free gift cards for both Walmart and Kohl’s. Click here to find out how.
Is the Ninja Foodi worth the money?
I will finish this Ninja Food Grill review with a big “yes!” This powerful appliance is well worth the money. I have friends and family members that have bought one after seeing how well my grill works. If you are on the fence about purchasing, go for it! With the many capabilities of this 5-in-1 appliance, the health benefits, and the quality of cooking, it is a no-brainer to get one. It’s also a great gift idea.
