The Ultimate Guide to Target drive up pickup!
I don’t know about you, but I hate shopping in the stores. I hate dealing with crowds. And I hate standing in line. That’s why I love Target drive up pickup. Yes, you can order your items the Target app and come to the store to pick it up. This is a great alternative to shopping in the store or waiting for delivery. You can simply drive up and have the items you ordered loaded directly into your car.
How does Target Drive Up Pickup work?
In order to use the Target Drive Up Pickup option, you must have the Target app. You can start your order outside the app, such as on a desktop. But when you are ready to check out, you must use the Target app. Be sure to choose the “Drive Up” option when checking out. When your order is ready, you will get an email letting you know you can come to pick up your order.
In the app, there is an option to let the store know that you are coming. Hit this button to be sure that your order is ready when you arrive. Turn your location setting on so the store knows when you arrive.
Upon arrival, there are designated pickup lanes where you can pull up. When you’ve parked, simply press “I’m here,” and a store associate will be out with your order.
How long does it take for the order to be ready?
Typically, Target Drive Up Pickup orders are ready within 2 hours. If the store is extremely busy, especially during holidays, expect to wait a longer amount of time for your order to be processed. At least you’re not standing in line.
What if I order an item and it isn’t in stock?
If you place a pickup order, and the store finds that it is not in stock, you will get an email giving you alternate options to get your items. Options include:
- picking it up at another location
- getting the item shipped to you for free
- cancelling the order
Can I use coupons with Target drive up pickup?
While you cannot use paper coupons, you can absolutely use Target Circle offers. Those are the digital coupons that can applied to your account from the Target app or website.
Be sure to pay attention to the redemption options on the offer. Some offers can only be used in the store. You want to make sure that if you’re doing drive up pickup, that your offers can be used for the drive up option. It will say it right on the offer.
