This DIY will get you through those times when you don’t have a sink available to wash your hands, and you’re in need of a quick germ-killer.
Check out this recipe and see how easy it is to make your own hand sanitizer.
What you need:
- Bowl
- Whisk or Spoon for mixing
- Measuring cup
- 2/3 cup 91% Isopropyl Alcohol
- 1/3 cup Aloe Vera Gel
- 5 drops Tea Tree Essential OilÂ
- 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- OPTIONAL: 5 drops Vitamin E Oil (for softening)
- bottles for packaging
*The Tea Tree oil came is available in a multipack that includes the lavender oil.
Instructions:
1. Sterilize your bottles by placing them into a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, mix the alcohol, aloe vera gel, tea tree oil, lavender oil, and vitamin E oil in a bowl. Mix it well!
3. Pour the ingredients into a measuring cup for easy pouring.
4. Pour the mixture into your sterilized bottle(s) to package.
It’s that simple! Now you know how to make hand sanitizer!
To use:
Rub a quarter-sized amount onto your palm. Rub your hands briskly (all over) until it evaporates.
