There are many perks to having to be a member of the world’s largest online retailer. This includes free 1-day or 2-day shipping, Prime Video, grocery delivery, and the new Prime Twitch (a free game every day)!
But let’s face it, not all of us can afford a membership at the full price. An Amazon Prime membership is now $119/year.
Here are some helpful tips to get an Amazon Prime Membership discounted or free:
30-DAY FREE TRIAL
If you’ve never been a member, you can get a free 30-day trial. The trial will give you all the perks of joining including free 1-day or 2-day shipping, Amazon Fresh grocery delivery, Prime Video, and more. After the free trial, it is $14.99/month or $139/year.
EBT CARDHOLDER DISCOUNT
This is one of the least talked-about discounts. It is for qualifying customers that have an EBT card. So, if you are an EBT cardholder, you can join for only $6.99/month. That’s less than half the price.
If you have an EBT card, there’s no need to pay full price for an Amazon Prime membership. Sign up for your discount here.
*Note: This used to include Medicaid cardholders, but Amazon removed that discount. Hopefully, they will bring back the Medicaid discount someday.
STUDENT DISCOUNT
If you are a student, you can get a student discount. Yes. Instead of paying $119/year, students can get an Amazon Student membership for $7.49/month or $69/year. You will get all the perks of the program including free 1-day or 2-day shipping, Prime Video, and more.
The best part, the first 6 months is free! After your 6-month trial ends, your student membership makes you eligible to receive a discount, including all regular membership benefits, for four years or until you graduate, whichever comes first. Heads up, you will need a valid .edu email address to join.
Just because this program is not affordable for some, does not mean it can’t be affordable for everyone. There are ways to get Amazon Prime membership discounted or free.
